The Nitro 800 is a lightweight, warm bag designed around the traditional mummy bag but with a few unique features that make Sierra Designs bags stand out. Great value for a bag with this much going on.

The Women’s Nitro 0 sleeping bag is designed with durable nylon ripstop and insulated with 800-fill, hydrophobic DriDown™ to keep you toasty warm, even on damp nights. A draft collar seals in the heat when moving around, and sidewall baffles prevent the down from shifting and causing cold spots, but our patented self-sealing foot vent provides relief to hot sleepers without the need to kick off the covers. Top it off with an anti-snag zipper to eliminate sleepy struggles and take greater comfort with this intuitive mummy bag.

Our Verdict

Sierra Design’s Nitro 800 0 Degree Down Sleeping Bag is a traditional style mummy bag that is lightweight, warm and has a couple of extra features that make it stand out from the crowd. The baffle design allows the down to loft really well and a decent half length zip makes for easy access. There is a really effective draught collar that hugs your shoulders to keep the heat in and the cold out.

 The most unique feature is the self sealing foot vent. I get hot feet so restrictive mummy bags are often uncomfortable due to feet that are overheating. On the Nitro you can easily slide your feet out of the vent on the bottom to cool off or just let air in. Due to the placement of the vent and the overlapping materials, as soon as your feet are inside there no chance of cold air getting in or your feet accidentally getting out.
